RFIT is a custom IoT and software development project that perfectly illustrates the challenges of industrial connected products and performance-oriented smart machines for the health and sports sectors.

This innovative training machine, designed for strength coaches, physiotherapists, and elite sports professionals, simulates weightless resistance through a digitally controlled pneumatic system. This approach allows for extremely precise effort control while enabling the collection of granular, actionable performance data from athletes.

When KERN IT stepped in, the concept had already been validated, but the product was hindered by a complex technical architecture that was difficult to maintain and even harder to scale.
Beyond the machine’s core function, the real challenge lay in designing a complete ecosystem: combining embedded software, electronics, real-time communication, data platforms, and professional interfaces tailored to field use. This level of rigor is essential for a product destined for professional, medical, or semi-medical environments.

KERN IT supports RFIT throughout the entire product lifecycle: from auditing and securing existing systems to full software and electronic refactoring, prototyping, interface development, and data infrastructure structuring.
The objective was not just to make the machine work, but to deliver a robust, reliable, and scalable solution capable of supporting intensive use, remote updates, and real-world operations over several years.
